Description Ink - The Movie
Ink is a film produced by the independent and small film production company Double Edge Films, for which Double Edge Films could not find a distributor. However, after its release, the film spread rapidly through file sharing, being downloaded 400,000 times via BitTorrent in just one week, for example. The producers then advocated for further distribution via file sharing. This example shows that file sharing can be very positive for artists. Of course, artists still need to make a living (they completely self-financed the film), which is why by purchasing this DVD, you can support not only file sharing but also the artists directly.
About the content of the film: Besides the known world, there is another level where two forces fight for humanity. One side exerts power over people by sending them nightmares, while the other side ensures beautiful dreams in return. The film revolves around the 8-year-old Emma, who is kidnapped by a being from the other world and falls into a coma in this world as a result. A battle for Emma ensues, which also influences Emma's workaholic father in this world.
Overall, Ink convinces with a well-thought-out story with a special ending and, despite the low budget, brilliant visual effects. It has been compared by critics to Donnie Darko, Dark City, and Pan's Labyrinth.
The language of the film is English, and the DVD and Blu-ray have English and Spanish subtitles. Both versions also include the following extras: Behind-The-Scene Featurette, Director's Commentary, Interview with the Main Actors, and a Deleted Scene. Each Blu-ray and DVD is signed by the director on the cover.
